Information about booking and etiquette

Is there a deposit when I pre-book by phone?

If you’re booking over the phone for caravan and tent bookings a night’s fee is taken as a non-refundable deposit. When a deposit is taken email confirmation will be sent to you, detailing arrival and departure dates. Please check all details are correct and print out the confirmation and bring it when you book in on-site.

Can I stay without pre-booking or booking via the website?

It is possible to camp on our campsite without pre-booking; however, during busy times there is no guarantee of being admitted on to the campsite.

How old do I need to be to make a booking?

The person making the booking is responsible for the booking and must prove that they are over 21 years old.

Can I book a big group?

We do not allow large parties, single-sex groups of more than 4, stag/hen groups or similar. Please contact us for clarification if unsure. Gibraltar Farm Campsite reserves the right to refuse bookings should they be inappropriate for the site and may refuse admission if any aspect of the booking has been misrepresented.

Is it possible to stay for one night over a weekend?

We ask for a two night stay during summer weekends, but at other times of the year apart from Bank Holidays we can accommodate that.

Can I cancel my booking on Bank Holiday weekends?

For all bank holiday bookings payment is taken in full in advance. Please consider making a bank holiday booking carefully as refunds will not be given should you wish to cancel within 30 days.

Can I change my booking dates?

Your booking shall be in accordance with the details confirmed at the time of booking. Your booking shall be non-transferable and non-alterable within 30 days of your holiday start date. You may make alterations to your booking with more than 30 days notice before your arrival date. If you wish us to make an alteration to your booking we will use reasonable endeavours to accommodate your request but no guarantee can be given.

Can I get a refund on my deposit?

We very much appreciate that unexpected events occur, however, we cannot offer deposit or payment refunds on bookings which are cancelled even if this is done because of ill health, serious family matters, work commitments, travel problems or bad weather. If you cancel a booking with 30 days notice or more we will try to accommodate requests to transfer the deposit amount paid to another set of dates within the same camping season, however, this may not be possible and will depend on availability at the time of the request. Deposits paid cannot be ‘rolled-over’ to another camping season.

What time is check-in and check-out?

For caravans, motorhomes and campervans please check in with our stewards (situated in the caravan field) between 2pm and 8pm.
For tents please check in between 2pm and 8pm. We politely ask that all patrons check out by 12 noon. Unless otherwise arranged, any arrivals/departures outside these times will be subject to a £5 surcharge.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead at all times.

Are BBQs permitted?

Yes BBQs 12 inches off the grass that use charcoal are permitted. Please put your BBQ out by 10pm.

Can I bring a firepit?

Sorry no firepits/ stoves/ wood fires of any kind are allowed on-site.

Can I walk to the beach from the campsite?

Yes there are 2 ways for our customers to access the shore from the site. Both are a short walk but not wheelchair/pushchair friendly.

How close is the campsite to shops and pubs?

Silverdale village centre is less than a mile away with a Co-op, newsagents, pubs, cafes, butchers etc
